Simple changes.
The world and its corporations should do a few of the following things that would make huge differences:
• use compostable disposable cups, plates, and utensils
• charge fees (as little as 25¢) for compostable disposable coffee cups to encourage bringing your own thermos
• use only paper or compostable bags at retail stores and supermarkets
• charge fees for such bags to encourage bringing your own shopping bag
• increase fees for energy and increase tax reductions for solar panels and environmental upgrades
• low flow household showers and toilets across the world
• turning off lights when you leave a room
• being awake during the daytime and sleeping earlier to reduce energy costs of staying up
• investing in the green market & supporting environmental bills in Congress
• research
• buying groceries locally, shopping at the farmer’s market
• taking the stairs, walking, biking, public transportation even
• when purchasing a car, buying one that is fuel-efficient (hybrids can get pretty far without gas :)
