My problem with getting tattoos is it’s so impossible to decide on just enough because you have only so much space on your body. I don’t go around calling myself an artist (I think), but as someone who draws and paints it’s also incredibly difficult to find a tattoo artist that could translate pieces technically and creatively well onto skin. In addition, art and people are ever-changing - what you want as a tattoo today might not be what you want in a few years.

Sometimes, you just have to take a step back and really look. Look at all the patterns and the cycles that have happened over and over. Pull yourself out of your situation that deteriorates as time goes on. You have to realize what’s wrong and when you need to start making it right.

In a new video from social justice-oriented T-shirt company FCKH8, several Ferguson children lampoon the excuses white people give to avoid getting involved in ending discrimination in America and deliver a call to action to stomp out racism.
It’s things like this that really motivate me to do something with my life about all these social and policy issues. It took me a while to understand how fucked up America really is, but I’m grateful because I’ve realized just what it is people should do and where my role in that lies.
